The museum was just ok and not too super exciting. I must preface the previous statement with the fact that we just came from France where the museums are extraordinary. The gardens were more of a highlight than the exhibit in my opinion. It’s not a total waste of time, just not a highlight.

Not quite clear museum. That is, it is good, many of the exhibits cannot fail to arouse a lively interest. This is not surprising as the collection is quite large if can be accommodated on four floors plus outdoors in a place like Deutsche Eck, behind the Basilica of Castor. However, I do not quite understand its general idea. Does the organization of the Museum, in principle, based on the culture and art of neighbouring France (mostly fairly modern), solve the problem of smoothing of contradictions between the two peoples, smoothing historic guilt for the medieval wars, the invasion of the Napoleonic troops and "retaliatory" invasion of the Germans be-fore the second world war?
Or just a couple of collectors managed to be in the right place and arrange the problem with the placement of their private collection?
By the way, there ares here exhibits not relevant to France and Germany, for example, a section of East Asian art. And it is very interesting.

I haven't visited the museum from inside, but outside they have many sculptures which can be a good view for an art enthusiastic. I was late and it would take and hour or two to see the whole museum as per the information area. It does hold a picasso so give it a shot. I saw the one at Koln(Cologne) which has loads of picasso paintings and that is worth a visit as well.
