The great virtue of Ibis is you know what you're getting. Light, airy rooms, reasonably spacious (although a second luggage rack would be handy, even a portable fold-up one stored in a wardrobe). Friendly, efficient reception services, with bar near. Buffet breakfast offering a range of food and drinks. Ibis Koblenz City not only measures up to these standards, it has also corrected a common Ibis fault: it has replaced those paper-thin towels with thicker, fluffier ones - thus making it easier for guests to comply with requests to conserve water and energy by using them a second day!
The rooms are good, breakfasts are good, the bar is a convivial place to meet fellow guests, and if you have a car there is secure basement parking at a reasonable cost.
We'd like to have stayed longer. Koblenz is an interesting city, the Old Town shopping is delightful, we found some excellent restaurants, and the area around Deutsches Eck where the Rhein & Mosel converge is pleasant to stroll around. Or, for something different, take a gondola across to the Rhein to Festung Ehrenbeitsheit. Any time we are in Koblenz again, we would definitely stay at this hotel.More
