“Nice but too little”
Review of Holocaust Memorial

Holocaust Memorial
Reviewed 29 September 2016 via mobile

The Holocaust Memorial was very nice but was very little to see. The system that provides sound so we could hear something about the memorial was not working. I just read what was on the wall. I didn't see any names or stories of those that lost their lives. I could have been so much more.

Is a small memorial, not much to see it but still nice to honor the victims. It is just a wall where a synagogue used to be, very easy access from the city center.

I have seen many memorials dedicated to victims of the war or oppression. Unlike some of them, when you see those bricks ¨built from people, families¨, you have the feeling how big was that crime.
Its very easy to get by this memorial in Wiesbaden. I recommend to stop by and perceive the tragedy in order not to happen it again ever ever.

This holocaust memorial sits right in the middle of downtown Wiesbaden. We nearly missed it as it looks like another beautiful wall here. We could barely eat our ice cream as we held our breath and began to read aloud the names of those people from Wiesbaden who were murdered during Hitler's war. The Germans know how to honor the dead and don't shy away from their history. This memorial stands for the honor and gratitude that today's Germany recognizes in themselves and others.

This memorial to the Jews killed during the Holocaust is creatively designed on the site of Wiesbaden's main synagogue, burned in 1938 during Krystalnacht. Names of those murdered are inscribed at eye level along the interior walls of where the temple stood. A moving experience.
