Description: Nobelhart & Schmutzig integrates the kitchen seamlessly into the dining area. 26 Guests are seated at a long counter that wraps around the food prep area in the middle. A large oval table for up to 14 guests will also be available for groups. We will set our table with one 10-course menu, carefully selected for internal harmony, and that's it. The prime directive is seasonal products, sourced locally. If Mother Nature doesn't offer it here in our region, then we won't either. It's really that simple. We call this approach "Vocally Local." And we accept no compromises on this point. If you carry the thought out to its logical extreme, you need to rethink not just the core ingredients, but every element of the meal as well: no olive oil, pepper, nutmeg, or citrus fruits, no vanilla, cinnamon or natural chocolate.

Had a wonderful dinner here about 2 years ago and wanted to see if the standard had been maintained. Our meal was outstanding once again. Started with champagne and initial courses focused on spring greens and vegetables. One outstanding example was a radish covered in rape seeds in brown butter which was terrific. All courses were of that standard. It is a bit quirky with sushi bar like seating, dim lighting and service by a team not a single server and some may find this unsettling. Bully runs the show and is super involved in the wine program but won't tell you what to choose but rather tries to get you to state your preferences and then matches the wine--again some prefer to be more firmly guided. If you are flexible and open to new experiences this is a place not to miss.

It's been a long time since I have been so excited before going to a restaurant. We made the reservation 3 month before our trip to Berlin. And it really lived up to our expectations and the hype. The food is just amazing. Every course is prepared with a lot of thought and tastes amazing. We really enjoyed the detailed explanations of the food served. The wine offered to the food was perfect. I have never experienced a whine fitting so perfect to the food. The staff is very friendly and caring. We don't eat meat and the menu was changed without anybody further mentioning it.

For the people wondering about the amount of 1star reviews (like I did). It's because the restaurant publicly announced that they don't want Nazis in their restaurant and now people are posting one star reviews as revenge.

This Michelin-starred restaurant is quite an experience, from the sheepskin rug tossed over the wood barstool for each female diner to the exceptional visibility of all of the chefs preparing and plating the food, it's a must-do. To be honest, the website for this restaurant seemed a tad pretentious in its espousing of super local food and lack of using simple non-local ingredients like lemons. However, the site did the trick and piqued my curiosity, so I made a reservation. My favorite dish was the potatoes with local fish roe. The potatoes were creamy and smoky, and it combined fantastically with the salty, crunchy roe. We had the wine pairing, as well, and even though many of the wines were not ones I would have liked on their own, they paired excellently with the food, which, of course, is what they are supposed to do. This restaurant shows that Germany has come a long way in terms of its food scene. I highly recommend it.

The Cast as they call themselves at NH&S deliver on all levels. Sitting at the bar surrounding the kitchen you watch the action and get served great food, with a smile and a story.
Had a very good time there.
Those with preconceived ideas about the way a michelin starred meal is supposed to go should leave those at the door and enjoy the ride and the food.
Not recommended for people with allergies to hipsterism and humour.

We had a dinner in this popular place that seemed to be very hot right now. The experience was strange, and we will never come back again. First of all, when we came in we didn't feel welcome. Nobody explained what the dining system was. They brought us a menu, and then we just started receive food. We were in the dish number 3 before anybody cared to ask what we want to drink. The restaurant doesn't serve any sparkling wine or champagne so don't ask for that, they will bring you some Lambrusco wine that does not taste good. The food was not the quality you would expect when you pay for fine dining. Service is non existing and unfriendly.
