“Walk the wall”

Loepsinger Gate Tower
Reviewed 30 September 2017

The city is one of the old walled ones on the romantic route. The walk is easy and can be attempted by most people with some level of fitness. Beautiful views from the wall. Well worth the walk.

Walked the 2.7k walk on the wall looking in at the town and out over the country and town. A must do for a town over 600 years old built in a 15 million year old meteor crater. Walk through the town following tourist maps supplied by the tourist information bureau absolutely great a highlight of my trip.

This is the one tower one is able to access to the top. A small museum is contained inside with panoramas of the historic siege of the city in the 1600's, an old brass spire, helmets, and more.

There is a museum, but we did not stop to take it in...however, it is a beautiful part of the city wall and very picturesque.

You can walk around almost all the city, and feel how was to defend a city at medieval times from the wall ... But you must see the museum at the principal gate (tor). There , if you are in a good shape, you walk around some wooden stairs , finding each floor ( 5 at all )furnished with every piece of artillery, guns, cannons, maps , swords,etc...Beatifull place
PS - Its not a free attraction, but a cheap one.
