Hotel Sophienpark is located just off the Leopoldplatz area, home to tons of outdoor dining, shopping and cultural options in Baden Baden. It's a classy hotel with a rich history and a lovely garden courtyard with sloping hills and outdoor seating & eating areas. Our room had a nice balcony overlooking the courtyard.

A phenomenal breakfast spread is offered 7am-10:30am (11am on Sundays) although one morning we opted to keep it simple by bringing fruit and pastries back from a nearby produce market and eating in the courtyard (quite nice!). Hotel Sophienpark has a professional, friendly staff - not too stuffy or pretentious.

There is a very slight old-cigarette smell - noticed only when in the main staircase area & hallways; I think it's mainly due to the age of the building and leftover from a century of folks smoking indoors. I'm very sensitive to cigarette smells, though, and I want to be clear that the smell was not strong enough to prevent me from staying at Hotel Sophienpark again.

Room Tip: get a room with a balcony overlooking the garden courtyard

Thank you so much for having taken the time to write your kind comments about your recent stay at our Hotel am Sophienpark. It is a pleasure to read, that you enjoyed your time in Baden-Baden. Even though we ae located in the very heart of Baden-Baden, you find a huge park in the back of the building. Especially during summer time, our guests love to take their breakfast outside. Sitting in the shade on the park terrace and viewing the trees and blossoms is a great beginning of the day. We all would be happy to welcome you back in the near future. With kind regards, yours Michael Böhme (managing director)

One of the best and largest rooms to find in a hotel in Baden Baden.
The garden in the " backyard " is beautiful and the breakfast is deasent.
The room is very clean and the price is ok if there are no exhibitions

This was the first hotel we stayed at on our tour through the Black Forest and our only regret was that we didn't stay longer! The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of this beautiful town and was easy to find coming from Stuttgart airport. The hotel itself is stunning with a beautiful central staircase and fantastic features. We had a balcony room overlooking the gardens which was so relaxing. The gardens were beautiful and well tended and sitting on the balcony looking out over the gardens listening to the church bells was a real treat we didn't expect. In my honest opinion what makes a great hotel outstanding is the staff and the staff here were truly outstanding. They were all friendly and helpful and really made our stay memorable. I would recommend this hotel without reservation if you are thinking of a holiday in this area.

Room Tip: Balcony room overlooking the gardens

Thank you so much for having taken the time to share your friendly comments about your recent stay at the Hotel am Sophienpark. It makes me happy to read, that you enjoyed your time here in Baden-Baden. As you already mentioned we were fully booked and ran out of parking places. It is not very usual, but it happens once in a while. The public parking is just 100 m up the street. No crossing, no turn into other streets. However, I am very sorry for any inconvenience. We all hope that we can welcome you back in the near future since it was a pleasure to have you had here as a guest. With kind regards, yours Michael Böhme

When we arrived, arrival to parking was difficult due to works and being a bank holiday. Phoned the Hotel and immediately and very kindly, gave very good indications to reach the park. Once in the Hotel and despite being fully booked, we had the surpris of having been upgraded with no extra cost to one of the rooms on the park side. Calm, quiet with an excellent view. The room was very spacious and very clean. At all times, you felt having real value for your money. The breakfast was german style, good, abundant and well served. Personnel at reception very kind.

Room Tip: Ask for room with views to Sophienpark. Awesome
