We stayed here for 4 days. The place is nice and quiet which we always wanted to have in our trip. Staff are nice except from what we experienced at their resto, they have to anticipate the needs of their guests.
Atleast make rounds on the dining table to see if they might need something. In short they should always pay attention and be more oriented about the job. Less chitchat with their colleagues. A friendly suggestion too that Kitchen staff should atleast wear some hairnets or face mask when preparing foods as a safety food standard.
About the diving experience here is really great! From Peter, dive manager down to the boat staff are very good. They really know how to do their job.Very accomodating and funny too.
Overall, we definitely recommend this place for everyone especially to divers! Looking forward to come back in the future.

Thanks for your review.
We discussed your feedback with our staff.
Making fun and socializing is inherent to the Philippine culture and that's what we and our guests love so much, but sometimes we need to remind them to pay a bit more attention also ;-)

Looking forward to seeing you back

Magic Oceans Dive resort was a great choice for the second half of our stay in the Philippines, at the beginning of October 2019. A bit of a pain to get to but once there the long travel time from the USA was worth it. The first half of our adventure was spent at Magic Island Dive resort. See our review of that resort for info on the trip getting to there. Part 1 of the adventure.
From Magic Islands resort we were greeted by our shuttle van driver for a 2 hour drive to the ferry terminal. Traffic was not as insane as the first part. Again half the population owns a motor bike. It was a relatively calm ride to the ferry terminal. Cars, truck, motor bike weaving in and out just inches from one another. One would have to be crazy to rent a car and drive any place, while there in the Philippines.
We checked our luggage in at the counter in the ferry terminal and waited. Then the announcement was made and what seemed like hundreds of people tried to get through the double doors that opened to the dock. Magic Resorts really have their stuff together. We had business class seating. POSH. We entered the hatchway on the boat and the attendant waved us up the stairway to our seats, which were very comfy. The seas were flat and the boat flew across water at a very high speed. It was so smooth that one could nap a bit.
Upon arrival at the ferry terminal on the island we were staying at, we picked up our luggage which was an experience in itself, no airport type carousel. Half the boat load of people trying to see, then grab their luggage as it was off loaded by hand by the crew.
Then off to find our next shuttle driver for the 2 hour trip to the resort. This trip was not quit as crazy as the first one was. Upon arrival we were greeted, checked in and ushered to our bungalow. The accommodations were nice. The room was clean and modest. No TV or phone. The bathroom was larger than at Magic Islands, two people could be in there at one time. The grounds were well manicured. The rock walls were works of art. Wish I could do that in our yards back home.
The staff was very friendly and by the second day had your name memorized and would address you by your first name. The restaurant was open air. The food was very good, plentiful and varied. They served more than you could eat.
We had come to do some scuba diving so we went to the dive center the first day of arrival, to introduce ourselves, sign the standard releases and drop off our dive gear. The next morning we got up went to breakfast, got into our dive suits and went to the dive center. The boats left at 8:30 each day. The boat rides to the dive sites were really short 15 - 20 minutes was the longest. The boats were a strange configuration that we had never seen in our travels around the world. A long narrow skiff with outriggers on both sides. They also had a head on them. The waters were flat on almost all our dives. The water temperature, at depth, was 84 – 86F. So toasty, that I did not ever wear any rubber the whole time there. I just wore a Lycra type suit for protection from accidentally brushing against things on the dives. Our dive master the whole time there was Roel. I learned later he had been there about three years. That didn’t hinder his ability to find and pointed out to us things that we would have never seen. He was good to say the least. The boat crew was good also. Fresh fruit, coffee, tea and water were served during our surface interval between dives. The boats also went out in the afternoons if you wanted to dive some more. The VIS on all our dives was very good at 75’ +. I rate VIS by what I can clearly see. Not, there is an object that is fuzzy and I’m guessing it’s a…… therefore VIS is…… .
The trip back to Cebu airport was about 6 hours. Two hours to the ferry terminal, two hours boat ride, two hours to the airport. Magic Resorts had everything dialed in for you, the trip back was well orchestrated. Everything went very smoothly.
In summary, if you can handle the journey getting there and back home it is an outstanding vacation/dive destination. Very relaxing. Magic Resorts has all the loose ends covered for you. A very good operation, 5 stars all the way.

Room tip: Request the ocean view rooms.

The hotel and the team are very accommodating! There was a typhoon during our stay so we were not able to the coral area of Anda but Peter, Marlon and the crew made it worth while. :) Too bad we werent bale to complete the dive BINGO! Maybe next time. Rooms are great too. Thank you proving water on a pitcher and not leaving us disposable mineral water! :D

We visited Magic Oceans as part of a large dive group. From the moment we arrived we knew we were somewhere special. All the staff are so welcoming. The resort is really well set up with an excellent dive centre close to the pier and the resort's three very comfortable boats. The dive staff and crew are fabulous - perfect balance of giving divers responsibility for their gear while managing all the heavy lifting - much appreciated on days with four dives! Our excellent dive guide Marlon showed us the amazing critters of Anda and shared his extensive knowledge of the marine biology of the region. The dive sites are many and varied - macro heaven combined with spectacular coral and walls. The house reef is a must during the day and as a night dive. Photographers are well catered for with camera tables in the dive centre and plenty of storage on the boats. There are day trip options organised by the resort - and some of our group took these up. But the diving was too good to tempt us away from the ocean.

The resort itself is lovely - individual rooms with comfortable beds and warm showers all set around a very pretty pool area. The bar is a great place to share stories and photos. And the food is tasty and plentiful. All dietary needs are catered for brilliantly. It's impossible to go hungry!

All up, if you're looking to do some seriously good diving and some serious relaxation this is an excellent choice. This was our first visit but definitely won't be our last.

This is a first-class facility. Just thinking about our time there makes me smile!
Getting there:- We travelled through Tagbilaran (aka Panglao) airport. The resort driver was there waiting with a nameplate and a smile even though our flight arrived late. As others will have said, it's over 2 hours to the resort, but gives time to get used to the Philippine countryside and sights, and as you might expect the van has aircon. My wife gave me a worried look as we drove down a dirt track on the last part of the voyage, but soon I saw her break into a smile as we came through the doors.
The resort:- Fantastic layout of bungalows around a pool, and as it's well away from the road there's absolutely no noise (to be fair the road isn't busy). The team were waiting for us as we arrived and made us so welcome. We felt as if we belonged there within hours!
They have also put some thought into mosquito avoidance, as I only ever saw 2 mossies in the week. Food was always varied, mouthwatering and hard to resist after a dive.
The diving:- You won't see big stuff so go elsewhere if you're looking for pelagics. This is macro central. Don't do what I did by bringing a GoPro...
Water temp during our time was 26 deg C, I had a 5mm full suit and was fine, others were cold with similar (but mainly older) suits. The resort does have hire suits.
The local guides knew their stuff, picking out critters so small I wonder how they find them buried in the sand (thanks Larry). I have to say my favourite were the frogfish! The resort boats are excellent, and have a great idea with straps hanging from the outriggers for divers to grab on surfacing (imagine bus or train loops hanging down). Plenty of potable water and food on the boats too.
The staff:- Peter oversaw everything like a zen master. He anticipated everything (including birthdays!) and we soon realised everything had been anticipated and we would be fully looked after. We can't thank all the staff enough for their support, from the kitchen staff to the drivers and dive staff who gave us smiles everyday.
Would we go back? Well, my wife is a non-diver but given the trips around the island which the staff can arrange, there's more than enough if we ever get bored with the peace and serenity of this great place. We do intend to go back!
