Bayeux was on the list as a great central location for doing the D-Day tours and starting our tour of Normandy, so we had to find a good hotel with secure parking not too far out of town. This ticked just about every box. Assuming you're happy to walk you can get to the the shops, restaurants, cathedral, tapestry etc. with no difficulty - about 10-15 minutes for the furthest away of these. The British war cemetery is about a 20 minute walk, tops.
Our standard double room at €141 per night was in the adjacent annexe building, accessed through a pretty rose garden. It's a nice enough old building, though being on the 3rd floor was a bit of a steep climb. The automatic light in the bathroom, as others have said, is crazy - it keeps going out. The room itself was not that big, but as we were out all day no problem.
Breakfast is in a very pretty dining room - old french style, grand town house high ceilinged feel.
Car parking was easy at the rear of the hotel, inside the grounds. It felt secure.
The staff were very friendly indeed and seemed very efficient too. The hotel itself was very quiet and as it's set back from the road also very peaceful. We'd be perfectly happy to go back.More
