The Hotel du Roc was just outside the medieval village, not on the plateau above as with many hotels, and some accommodation is miles away. This was important for us as bike tourers (we also had perfect bike security in the lock-up garage). Accommodation was basic but comfortable, everything worked. Good ensuite. And good wifi. We are right on the road but it wasn't too noisy, however a lot of flies came in when the window was open, but there is no airconditioning. Just something to deal with but didn't take away from our overall enjoyment in Rocamadour.
Our hosts Alain and Claude could not have been more helpful and friendly and we communicated well in a combination of French and English. The hotel seems very popular, virtually booked out while we were there for 2 days.
We found a very good restaurant in the Terminus des Pelerins, with a set menu. The view is spectacular.

The greatest pro of this hotel is its proximity to Rocamadour. And free car parking. Prices are average for a two-star hotel. But the rooms are basic. The bathrooms even more. In fact, showering is something of an impossibility, because of the low height of the showerhead, and on our floor, the sloping ceiling making it impossible to stand up while showering.
We were there during the hottest days of the year and our rooms smelled "of paint", but which was in truth a sceptic issue, which did disappear as the temperatures at nighttime went down.
Breakfast was basic but well taken care off. The staff/owners was friendly, but do doublecheck your bill, as it was all quite ad-hoc calculations, and one room in our party had errors in their bill.

Great location, friendly staff and budget-friendly! And, free parking. Would definitely stay there next time. It should be noted that we had a room with a view and a small balcony. Although the room was not very soundproof, we did not have a problem with the noise level at night. Sounds like the folks with negative reviews had more downscale accommodations than our room.

We booked a budget room at this hotel at the last minute through Booking.com and one of the main attractions was its free off street parking (limited) next to the hotel. The room we got was a very small double, and at the back of the hotel - it was a budget room after all - but we decided to pay another 5 euros a night and got one at the fton on the top floor with a large bathroom with bath and shower. It's a really quaint, olde worlde hotel (no lift), and we loved it - we were about 20 paces from the gateway into the old town of Rocamadour, so it's a fantastic location. We were very comfortable there and the staff were friendly, so we would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again given the opportunity. We felt the price was very reasonable.

Room Tip: Pay an extra 5 euros (depending on season I suppose) and get a room at the front on the upper floor, not a little budget room at the back .

We stayed her for one night on our walking holiday. Although the hotel was nearly empty we were given a room on the 2nd floor with a tiny roof window. We were told we'd have a lovely view = true;. It was unseasonably wet & cold. Our room was cold & soon to become wet! The condensation from our running a bath & the warmth of our bodies caused the walls to stream with water. The small radiator gave out very little heat. The next morning the walls were still very wet. As it was so cold outside we didn't choose to leave the window open which perhaps could have eliminated this condensation;

Room Tip: Don't go there!
