Friendly hotel right beside a bus top into town (15-20 mins walk). The bus to Castres airport also runs along the front of the hotel too (all the Castres buses are free). Rooms are very clean, and cards left to let you know who has prepared it for you are a nice touch. Tourist information was provided helpfully by the hotel. Good buffet breakfast with cereal, fruit, eggs, pancakes and lots of bread (the waiter is very helpful if you need help with the coffee machine). The pool is covered making it shady in the late afternoon. It is quite small, not one for actually swimming in, however very welcome in the heat of the summer! The restaurant is its weak point, limited choice on the menu and the food tastes somewhat average. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance towards town. Worth noting there are no safes in the rooms, which would be a helpful addition.

Just stayed there for a night on a biz trip. However I may stay there again (or not). Nothing special to say, could be good for a stopover or a few days depending on your plans.
Or maybe there could be better places around. Not expensive, quiet and with rather basic but good breakfast. Wi-fi is ok but pw is not set-and-forget (just saying).

Excellent English speaking reception staff (he had worked in Leeds). Simple but comfortable room with an excellent and very clean en suite shower room. Swimmimg pool available though did not use on our whistle stop visit. Atein the restaurant, which had good food andqas reasonably priced.

We 'settled' for this hotel after vain attempts to find a nicer venue in the old part of Castres. To make a long story short, we ended up at l'Occitan, and, I must say, for the price, it was a most acceptable accommodation. AIthough the rooms are ordinary, they're relatively comfortable and the hotel offers many free services and conveniences. Our room had a balcony overlooking the garden and pool. It was a nice quiet area for our overnight sleep. And the dining-room food was a pleasant surprise as well. All in all, it was very good value. Oh! And the receptionist cum valet was such a nice, helpful fellow. Kudos to him.

We liked the look of l'Occitan from the road and inquired at reception for a room. The receptionist ask if we wanted breakfast and we declined due to my wife's gluten allergy, explaining that she cannot eat bread or pastries. We did, however, request dinner for that evening and was pleasantly surprised when the waiter already knew the situation and took the time to explain what she should not eat from the menu. He then returned with an individual pack of gluten free bread. (first time we've been offered this in France) Excellent meal with polite and attentive service. Good room too.
