I have passed this tiny restaurant many times. At first I thought it was a bar and takeaway. Through the window you can see the deli counter and bench tables with seating for a handful of folk. When I popped in to get the take-away menu I realised it was much much more.
Thread you way past the bar and open kitchen and voila ! American Diner meets the Casbah. There are not many covers so best book at the weekend. The whole place is immaculately clean.
The host is extremely aimiable and helpful. We chose to drink the Lebanese beer which was cold, thirst quenching and at the same price as pression ordinaire in the local bars. As we were a group of us we ordered the Mezze comprising hot and cold Lebanese "tapas". Some of the dishes we knew well - hummus and stuffed vine leaves - but some others were a new delight. Mezze is a great sharing conversational meal. Start with a few dishes and finish having ordered many ! its also a good way of discovering Lebanese favourites for the first time. I think, in the end, we did manage to eat our way through the whole Mezze menu ! Beautifully presented, delicate aromatic flavours and plenty of variety.
Whether you are snacking or ravenous, this place is highly recommended.
