Good location, stylish and good value for money

Hotel room was clean, warm and well presented. Modern shower/bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. Hotel was conveniently located 5 min walk away from Nation Metro station which connects to multiple lines making travelling around Paris very easy. Would definitely stay here again

My husband and I stayed in this hotel from 6th March - 10 March 2018 on our honeymoon and boy was it a memorable stay! Our host by the name of Rachel was an extremely friendly and accommodating person. We ended up reaching the hotel fairly earlier than the check in time and we had arrived from India so you can imagine how long and tiring the journey was! Looking at that Rachel helped us check into our room earlier so that we could rest and start off our honeymoon fresh!
We entered our room to find a sweet little note from them on our bed congratulating us on our marriage along with chocolates and a balloon. They surely know how to make you feel special!
This place is a small homey type of a hotel which is well connected to the subway lines thus making your travel around the city a very convenient experience. The staff here is extremely helpful, they helped guide us to locations as to which would be the best and quickest routes, gave us useful tips for the city and helped us get a cab whenever we needed! They make sure that you are as comfortable as you would be at your own home.
They have exceptional hygiene standards; being very picky about cleanliness myself, I couldn't find a spot of messiness or dirt anywhere in that hotel! I will surely recommend this place to everyone who plans to visit Paris, totally worth the money!

I really wanted to give this hotel a 5 star rating, but can't. first the positive... the location is great, Nation metro is a block away, but far enough out so not so touristy. A lot of great restaurants and shops (plus the butcher chop and bakery right next door) nearby. The front desk was very helpful. Unfortunately two out of six nights the people in the next room were so loud we could not sleep. The interior walls are very thin. The second night we had to complain, but they were still up talking non-stop until 4 AM (and smoking in the room as well that we could smell next door). We had a standard room that was European small (expected), but always clean. The room was warm, but the windows did open. If you can get neighbors that are on the same sleep cycle as you (or considerate enough to stay quiet during off times) it is a great hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor for noise

Dear pjsltk,

We are thanking you for your kind comments about your stay in Prince Eugène*** , and we are really happy that you appreciated our neighborhood with its "bistrots and brasseries typically parisian".
We feel sorry about the experience you had with the room next door : our hotel is totally non smoking and it is written on each door. Unfortunatly, there are always people who do not respect the rule and who do not respect the peacefulness their neighboors... We are trying to avoid those behaviours as much as we can, but... When it happens, you do not hesitate to come and find the receptionnist in duty for some help : this is also our part.

We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again in Prince Eugène,

With our best regards,
Alexandra

I booked a room at the hotel for Valentines weekend with my Partner to celebrate our anniversary.
I booked the room here specifically because of the size 18m2 which by Parisenne standards would be quite large.

Upon arrival we went to our room which appear quite small, much smaller than i expected. When i went down to query this, i was informed after the fact that the room I had booked was not available, due to a leakage so they had placed us in a different, much smaller room.

This i found incredibly unprofessional as there had been no mention of this upon our arrival and i felt that they were hoping we wouldn't notice, i enquired about what was to be done to recompense this situation and the receptionist on duty stated that all she could do was offer us breakfast free of charge, which i had no interest in as their breakfast is considerably over priced.

After much discussion the receptionist informed us that there was nothing else she could do and we would need to speak to the manger on Monday before our check out.

When we spoke to the manager she informed us that all she could do was remove the city tax which came to 9 euros, again i found this unacceptable. After much debate whereby she stubbornly informed me that any other reductions would be impossible, a stance she was unwilling to flinch on, we eventually received a further discount of 10 euro.

I hope this does not come across as arrogant, but to be moved to a smaller room without prior knowledge and then have the hotel manager point blank refuse to compensate you for the downgrade is completely unacceptable, only for the fact that I was on a special trip with m Fiancee and i did not want it to end on a sour note, i would have stayed there until something more was done!

The rooms are nice, if a bit small, but the customer services is horrendous.

Dear marclechefster,

We are first thanking you for your comment about your experience at Hôtel du Prince Eugène*** : it is important to us.
Of course we appreciate more of all to read positive comments about our clients’ stay but we also need to know when things could be improved.
You are wright when you wrote that you booked our biggest room: 18 m2, a double standard bed of 140 cm, our only room situated on the ground floor near the reception and facing the street. Furthermore, this is our only room in the “Club category”: situated on the ground floor and also adapted for people with reduced mobility.

We really do our best and we are trying to well look after our equipment, and this is the least of it.
We effectively and unfortunately had a leakage the afternoon of your arrival in the room that you booked. It remains unusual but it happened that day.

Again you are wright when you wrote that our receptionist on duty that day should have mentioned this change and problem upon your arrival and not after.
She tried to react quickly and prepared you a superior room category (14 m2 with a king size bed of 180cm), on the 2nd floor and on the quiet side, facing the courtyard.
We could not upgrade you in a “Deluxe room category” (16 m2 with a king size bed) because they were already booked.

The “Club room category” is 4 euros per night higher than the “Superior room category”.
In compensation, she proposed to offer you the breakfast: a full buffet at 10 euros per person and per day. We get everyday compliments from our clients about our well-furnished and fresh breakfast (French pastries, cereals, ham, chicken, cheeses, fresh fruits etc…), and proposed at a very reasonable price.

We can of course understand that you were disappointed not to get the room you booked but we do hope that you felt well in the room we prepared for you, and that you enjoyed Paris !

Best regards,
Alexandra

A delightful hotel, lovely décor, fluffy towels, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean and situated very near station Nation, making it simple to access all the metro lines. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were very welcome. Perfect for a long weekend. A special 'thank you' to Rachel, the receptionist, for being so helpful.
