On arrival the receptionist gave us a warm welcome speaking very good English. These people were always ready to see to our needs. The room was spic and span. Although the breakfast room is small a variety of food and fruit was offered including scrambled eggs, bacon different types of bread, plus cereals, yoghurt, fresh friut and croissants. This hotel is across the road from the metro offering easy excess to all the interesting sites in Paris.

Room Tip: Rooms are quiet, close to all amenities

The staff was fantastic and really helped us out with directions and even wrote out the metro links we needed. They were really helpful with getting us our reservations for the Eurostar to London. We wouldn't have had such an easy time of it ourselves. Was very clean and the breakfast was enough to start the day. The room could have been a bit larger, my husband is 6 ft. and said he felt cramped and the bathroom was tiny. But it was located nicely for us right by the metro and had a good variety of shops and dining choices. Love that the windows have flower boxes and you can get fresh air.

Room Tip: Would ask if have larger room with perhaps 2 beds.

When travelling with a 7 and 10 year old in a foreign country two of my main concerns are - how easy is it going to be to feed them and get them around? Although we drove into Paris, we didn't want to be driving around the city and it's hard to find hotels that have any parking, let alone at a reasonable rate. 55 does both - the cost of their parking is 15 euros a day which isn't too bad. The hotel is located a mere 2 minute walk from a Metro station (Pernety) in the Montparnasse area which means most of the city's attractions are only one line change away, which is so handy. Then there are the food options - unlimited, just on your doorstep - cafes, bakeries, restaurants, bars and grocery shops all within a five minute walk. The rooms have firm mattresses and lovely linen including a choice of pillows. I don't think the hotel has interconnecting rooms so if my boys were any younger there's no way I would have contemplated doing this, but we had rooms next to each other which I could just handle. They had a renovated bathroom which was awesome - massive shower with one of the largest show roses I've ever seen and all modern amenities. Ours was older but still serviceable. Breakfast at the hotel is a fabulous deal - just 11 euros a head for help yourself juices, cereal, pastries, yogurt, baguettes, ham, cheese, eggs, fruit, tea and coffee. All the staff are very friendly. This hotel is a fantastic all rounder - loved it.

We are a family of 4 with 2 kids 8 and 10. As other reviewers have described great location, fantastic neighbourhood, Metro was very convenient. Approx. half an hour max to all the sites, Eiffel Tower, louvre, sacre le couer etc. The staff were fantastic especially the lady who gave us hints everyday on where to go. We had 2 rooms and the beds are North American queens. We were very happy, great price and location. A couple of tips. For those light sleepers the walls are thin as you can hear other rooms and try to get a room away from the elevators as you can hear the rumbling. Finally we used Uber throughout the trip, it was a flat 50 euro from the airport (no tip required) compared to 60-80 euro for a taxi. We were picked up in a bmw 5 series, offered bottles of water from our driver who was in a suit. You can't get ripped off with uber as u get a GPS map of the ride. There is also a grocery store around the corner that opens at least until 11pm for water, beer and wine.

Perfectly located hotel in lovely area. Rooms were clean and quiet, ours were on the top floor. Windows opened (we love fresh air) and there was also air con. There were 2 adults and 3 kids so we had rooms next door. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was fantastic, very close to Metro station with bakery, butchers, supermarket and fruit shops very close by. Nice cafes and restaurants nearby too. Would recommend highly.

Room Tip: Top floor had street views and also away from street noise.
