Our family of four (w2teens) love food tours. The kids love learning about new food. On this trip, we did the Chocolate tour. Andres was AWESOME! He took us to places we would have never seen. He was knowledgeable not only about the chocolates and businesses ,but also about the history of the neighborhood. We would totally do this again. My husband said he would like Andres to take us on a wine tour also. He was lovely!

Our docent, Gil Soltz, transported us to 1942 Paris. Through his balanced, informed perspective we found ourselves sympathizing with the French. Of course nothing is black and white, but it can be made so depending upon the lens through which it is viewed, and mine was focused on France's treatment of the Jews at that time. But by "context"ualizing France before and during World War ll, illuminating the subtleties and complexities of its history, Gil not only softened, he actually altered my point of view. He also showed the occupation's effect on France after the war. Gil was relatable, likable, knowledgable, and insightful. He is a natural storyteller, backing up the facts with anecdotes and enlivening historical figures without judgment. My family also saw a different France than the one sometimes portrayed in newspapers. I'm grateful to Google for introducing me to Context Travel and thus to Gil. A company is only as good as its people, and everyone with whom I had contact was professional, accessible, and helpful. From hereon I doubt I'll travel anywhere without them!

On a rainy, cold day in Paris our docent Thibaud guided us through the streets of Paris to learn about the French Revolution. We started at the site of the Bastille and ended in the area where the French king and queen were executed. During our 4 hour walk we learned not only about the historical events of the Revolution but also about the various styles of architecture of Paris, the social climate at the time, the customs and traditions of the French people and the effect the Revolution has on France today. Thibaud took us on the Metro once and was very helpful in getting our tickets and guiding us on the Metro and giving us instructions on which Metro line to return to our hotel. This is our seventh Context Tour and our third in Paris. Thibaud was very knowledgable, organized and has a great teaching style which made the tour event better. One of the most interesting things we learned is that what we learned in the history books is not necessarily how events happened. We learned about some of the myths of the Revolution events and what really happened. Once again thank you Context and especially thank you Thibaud.
