Description: The Saint James Paris is altogether a hotel member of Relais & Chataux and the home of the exclusive Saint James Club. The elegant and cozy restaurant is open to the public Mon to Sat for dinner (7:30pm to 10:00pm) upon reservation - up to 8 persons. Dinner is served in the gardens when the weather allows. Discover the generous & refined creations of our Chef, Adrien Brunet. To accompany their dishes, our head sommelier François Leboulanger has imagined subtle pairings. True to the traditions and centered on the products themselves, the dishes of Adrien Brunet are developed on a classic base to which he adds touches of surprise. He always achieves a balance of flavors in order to offer comforting and understandable compositions. Excellence is his goal, and the highest degree of conscientiousness his best daily tool.

Authentic upper-crust Parisian elegance and style in a beautiful dining room priced to satisfy the local upper-crust clientele (taste) for fine dining. Expert, superbly selected menu and served gracefully and mindful of tradition. The bar is extraordinary and could be a Hollywood setting for old European charm with a glass of champagne or a martini in a stemmed Ravenscroft Crystal. Obviously Michelin rated but not outrageously expensive or overstuffed with hype or pomposity.

The ambiance is special - tables are well spaced out - creativity abounds - we could not resist ordering a la Carte to get exactly what we wanted - wine list has a few well chosen held bottles. Worth repeat visits

One night in Paris and I decided that rather than the usual bistro, I would treat myself to this.

Decided not to go for the degustation as I think those experiences are best shared with someone else.

Had some of the best foie gras I have ever had ( although I should have gone for the sweeter wine pairing). The sommelier here is great. Did a wonderfully matched red with the pork.

Great environment

The connecting bar is also lovely, and the charming woman behind the bar (whose name I’m afraid I have forgotten) made one of the best manhattans I have ever had. She steeps the vermouth in bourbon casks herself, and also macerates the cherries in brandy.

Go on, spoil yourself. You won’t regret it

We had dinner here while staying at the Hotel and thought it was an excellent meal. Each dish was interesting, with flair, and very enjoyable. The wine matching was interesting also with very helpful explanations from the lady who served us.
It was a fine evening and we (and the rest of those there for dinner) ate in the garden outside which also added to the enjoyment. (Perhaps bring or ask for the insect repellent, as we did there were a few around over dusk.) All in all a fun meal.

For 36 euros you expect some wow- not an average buffet. The requested cappuccino turned up as filter coffee, the a la Carter omelette was decidedly rubbery and the service was sullen.

Didn’t eat in the restaraunt as it was shut due to Labour day- but if it is show-cased by breakfast- don’t bother!

This review is not of the hotel- which is fab!
