Having been to Reims before and tried some of the bigger houses we thought that we would give a smaller house a go. The assistant was very helpful telling us about the grape percentages though I fear they don't get much footfall as the three glasses tried were all a bit on the dull but not quite flat side.
Did not do the tour this was about tasting!

We came here today, and were the only ones on the tour.
The film was quite good, the guide was excellent, answering our many questions with good humour.
The tasting of a non vintage, rose and vintage champagne, included in the 13 eur fee was excellent.
We bought a case of 6 vintage, at a very good price.

We went here as it was the nearest and it was very nice. They explained all about the different grapes and we tried 3 samples at €4 per glass it was good value and it can be bought in the Co Op when we get home. They also called a taxi for us so we could go back to our hotel.

We were lucky to fall on these champagne caves right next to our hotel in Reims. One of the few houses with a central position, they even do tours late afternoon on Sundays (relatively rare in France). A reasonable price at 13 Euros, we enjoyed a tour with a well spoken young lady who really knew her stuff. She has clearly grown up drinking the stuff! We enjoyed the generous tasting session too, and a fun chat with the friendly staff ;-)
This is a fairly modern house with more modern techniques, but clearly a high quality outfit and the champagne tasted good! Many thanks to the team, they clearly take pride in what they do ;-)

We booked via the tourist office and turned up the next day. We were the only people on the tour. It started with a generic video on the champagne production methods, rather than information about the Cazanove house. The came the tour which was very disappointing. We were shown a few barrels and a "factory" where a few machines were turning the bottles. We paid more to test the vintage champagnes. They were ok but little information was provided about what to taste for etc, as one normally gets when on a wine tasting.
