We had lunch at Atypic based on TripAdvisor reviews. When we came into the restaurant, it was early for lunch, so it was not too crowded; it filled up shortly thereafter. The main problem here is service - they have a limited staff, and a lot of people to wait on. Our waitress was always running and in a rush, and we always had to flag her down to get her attention. There were three of us, and one ordered an Italian salad; the waitress brought out an entirely different salad, and when we asked for the ordered salad, the waitress said they did not have the ingredients in the kitchen that day, so they just substituted a different salad without asking. We then switched that order for a house specialty -- skewers of chicken, and it came out relatively fast and was very good.
My daughter noticed that when another guest's napkin fell on the floor, the waitress picked it up off the floor and handed back to the guest, rather than providing a new napkin to the guest.
I had the set meal for lunch, and it was a lot of food for a very reasonable price, but it was just OK from a quality of food standpoint.
Another atmosphere point was the location of the toilet room door right in the center of the rear of the restaurant surrounded by tables, with people going in and out in a steady stream. Although they would have lost some valuable table and seating space to wall it off to be more private, I certainly was happy that we were not seated in that immediate area.
Overall, not a place I would likely visit again if I were in Dinan.
