The Gap of Dunloe was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. We hired a horse-drawn jaunting cart at Kate Kearney's Cottage. Honestly, unless you're REALLY into hiking, it's the only way to go. The trip to the top is long and arduous. I saw many hikers looking at our cart longingly, I suspect wishing they had hired one themselves. The cost is significant (30 Euro per person to the top), but it was a memory we will never forget. We stopped MANY times to take photos and the views are simply breathtaking. The four of us that went all agree that this is a MUST SEE location when in the Killarney area.
