“Great tapas”
Review of Casa Del Toro

Casa Del Toro
Ranked #642 of 2,943 Restaurants in Dublin
Price range: ₱363 - ₱1,150
Description: Our menu incorporates the use of contemporary and traditional tapas from all regions of Spain, carefully developed by our Head Chef. In Casa del Toro we only use the finest, freshest meat and seafood, all of Irish origin and sourced as locally as possible. All Spanish meats and products are imported directly from Spain. The Origin of Tapas is not clear however the most widely told story is when the King of Castilla, Alfonso the tenth (circa 1200), was ill he could only eat small bites of food and washed them down with wine. When he recovered, he declared it was the only way to eat and decreed that no wines were to be served in the Inns without food.

The food is really great, and great value.

The beer menu is lacking, with one token craft beer only, but good cocktail menu. Service is fine, but restaurant was relatively quiet when we were there.

I found the restaurant had very inviting decor. The beer was warm and there seemed to be only one waiter on. The tapas were average maybe ordered the wrong tapas for dinner but seemed to be middle of the road. I also think they should invest in a changing table for babies. I had to change my son on the floor of the ladies which was unhygienic. All in all expensive and not very good.

This is our go-to place when we’re looking for somewhere to eat.

The food is excellent, and we find it really good value.

We always order at least 5 tapas, and wolf them down

Superb little restaurant! The food was tasty and hot, the service was impeccable, the only negative was that we ate too much! Can't wait to go back.

Arrived without a booking on a Saturday evening and were given a table straight away. The restaurant was quiet busy but our order was taken quickly. We had the filo duck and the goats cheese, honey, apple and pine nuts to start and we shared the cod with parmesan and the chicken in garlic. We also had the chunky chips with mayo and parmesan. The food was really good and very fresh. The only negative was with the service. I would have liked desert but we waited that long after finishing our meal without anyone coming that I just went up for the bill. Just that little bit extra level of service would have made it perfect but I wouldn’t let it put you off as the food still made the experience.
