Visited on a busy Easter Sunday. Hadn't been there for over 40 years,& was very impressed with the beautiful enclosures everywhere for the animals. Feeding times could be found on their website before visit. Extremely impressed with viewing areas for sea lions in particular, partly below water level ! Keepers of Giraffes & white rhino explained the zoo's breeding programme. Plenty of seats, eating areas & zoo mostly on the level.
For the elderly, I suggest you hire a taxi from city centre to take you directly to zoo entrance. Although a bus service from O'Connell St bridge,it only takes you to the Park's entrance- and quite a long walk from there to zoo entrance.
Although not one of the largest zoos I've visited- it is certainly one of the prettiest and easiest to get around.
My 2 grandsons aged 7&6 loved it.

As an adult, I find zoos quite depressing, but children seemed to have a lot of fun. Ideal for children, but don't go there if you care about animals. Except for the sea lions, they all looked very sad. They did seem well taken care of and the zoo is nice kept, but wild animals in captivity should not be entertaining.

Had a lovely afternoon here, would definitely recommend a visit. One of the nicest zoos we've been to. Very spacious and the animals are very well cared for.
