Hotel rooms are nothing special and the walls are really thin coupled with creaky floorboards. Good location close to the water but not all rooms look out over the water. The restaurant food however is excellent although the dining area is nothing special. Staff in the hotel are friendly and helpful.

Large rooms, clean & quiet. We were on DB&B deal and the food was fine, especially the breakfast kippers. Hotel has probably seen better days and some things could be upgraded but overall our stay was fine. Only 10 minute walk from central Ayr. Free parking.

Lovely short visit to ayr... building grand and easy to find.. only a short walk from the beach n shops.. a really great location.
Our Room was very clean and spacious and could see out on to the sea front. Beautiful views. Could not fault the rooms in any way... Great Hairdyer Kettle Cafetiere and all teas/coffees/shortbread supplied.
The Food in the restaurant was gorgeous..very tasty and great portion sizes. All staff we met were very professional, friendly and aiming to please the customers.

The Only down points I could make was that the back doors appeared to be left open each time we walked past and this did worry me a bit especially at night. The swimming pool and facilities ie lockers require a bit of upgrading but still function well. I noticed when leaving that the dirty linen gets left in piles in the corridor for u to walk past instead of being put into buggies. Surely these shouldnt be just lying on the carpet for hours?? Just a thought for the mamagement and prevention of infection. I considered speaking to management about this but as a short stay n all else was fine didnt bother.

Will return and recommend due to the positive aspects... and even if we dont manage another stay we will definately book in again for dinner.

reception smelled of fish. Hall carpet to Turnberry Suite very dirty. Headboard broken.
Worse aspect was lack of security, nobody on desk at 10pm Fri. night. Any key
could have been taken. Both back doors unlocked all night.
