The abbey was lovingly restored in the 1990s and now features fantastically expressive gargoyles that were carved by a talented stonemason and/or team of stonemasons from Edinburgh. Look for the science fiction creature made famous in 1979. The abbey stands tall and proud. It is not overshadowed by contemporary buildings. A worthwhile attraction next to the Milton Watermill Hotel and White Cart Water.

Beautiful building with a side room displaying history of Abbey and its occupants. Helpful staff on hand to offer further information. Little café and toilets off the cloisters with the ubiquitous shop.
