The castle is famous and you will want to visit it. However it is a bit disappointed as there are limited rooms to visit and the family who own the castle does not want any photos to be taken inside.

It is a small castle. You can visit it in 30 min. I think it is overpriced for what the castle has to offer.

The guides inside each room are really helpful and very knowledgeable.

We went to this castle as part of our Rabbies Apple Cross tour. We saw several castles during our Scotland visit; this was our favorite.

We stopped by the castle on our guided tour and we had preferential rates so we’ve decided to go in. The outside of the castle is absolutely gorgeous and there is a lot of photo opportunities on many angles. The inside however is less desirable. I’m not sure why, but it feels like you’re going back though 1960s, not the 13th century. The setting is nice but the decor just doesn’t fit the place. No photos allowed inside and the staff is politely rushing you to go though quickly.

When I visited it was busy but this didn't take away from the experience. The castle was rebuilt using the original foundations and exhibits a lot of artefacts found on the island. Great place to stop on the way to skye and worth the £8 for a ticket! Sadly no photos inside but I really enjoyed this all the same.

Everyone told us this is a must see castle. Yes it is gorgeous from the outside. Took some stunning pictures. And yes you should go just to get the pictures and and see for yourself why this is the most photographed castle in Scotland. But do not pay the entrance fee. Walking through the castle was such a disappointment. You felt you were walking through a home decorated in the 1970's. Since they rent the castle out for weddings etc, we understand why there does need to be some "modern" touches inside, but it totally loses it's charm of being an old medieval castle. We were very discouraged and hoped our future castle tours would not be as disappointing .
