Great base for the Cairngorm National Park

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 9, 2015via mobile
We stayed in an extremely comfortable two bedroom villa, it was equipped to the highest standard and provided us with everything we needed. The location in Aviemore is perfect for dining out and provides a broad selection of places to eat from fine dining to fast foods. Within a short drive you can be travelling up the Cairngorm or driving along the side of Loch Ness. One of our favourite days out was a drive to Fort William and then a steam train to Mallaig, even though it was a bit overcast that day it didn't detract from the wonderful views.
I would recommend Scandinavian Village to anyone as a home from home in one of the most beautiful locations in the British Isles

Lovely apartment very warm and we'll equipped. Very friendly staff and beautifully kept grounds.
Shame about the rain but it did not stop us our enjoyment.
Many sights to see from Aviemore including the Cairngorm mountain railway and Lochs. We took a trip to Loch Ness and looked around the museum.
This is a worthwhile trip. Also the Spey Valley steam railway was situated in the town centre and is a very enjoyable trip. This was our first visit to Scotland and found it very enjoyable.

The accommodation was a bit dated but adequate .you weren't allowed to leave dogs in the property on their own which was a bit limiting.great dog walking to the rear of the resort.lots of great forestry walks

We make a regular annual visit to the rothiemurchus /Cairngorm region in the Summer and have stayed in the Scandinavian lodges for 8 consecutive years. We are 2 adults + 2 teenagers and take a villla. This sleeps 6 but 4 beds are in the same room ie 2x2 adult size bunks so we have slept 6 here but extra 2 adults use the large sofa bed downstairs....so if u are prepared to use the sofa bed and sleep 4 children in the bunk room this will accomodate 8. Villas are all well equiped with cutlery, pans crockery, bedding ,towels and washing machine/ dryer etc and staff are very efficient and responsive so if anything is missing or not working they are quick to sort it. Our only down side is the late check in time of 4pm on the Saturday. But having researched the are thoroughly the villas and flats are very good value compared to other accommodation in the area. Good location with open fields around walking access to all aviemore centre facilities, aviemore village and Rothiemurchus. Recommended.

stayed here a couple of times, staff friendly enough, dogs allowed so that's a plus. It is in the heart of aviemore, so we can visit all the cairngorms area. Quite good for basics, has a dishwasher, fridge freezer, cooker etc, all working order. Nice area and perfect for dog walking

My husband and I recently spent a week at this fantastic resort. So happy with everything. Took the Funicular train to the Cairngorm Mountain, views were spectacular, This resort is so worth it. Used this place as a base and travelled up to the Isle of Skye. Lots of local restaurants with great food. One that we would personally recommend was the Cairngorm Hotel, meals excellent and good value. Tasted like home cooking - soooo good. We were very warm with the heating system in the units. Would definitely go back to this resort.
