Djs,dogs, hipsters, mysterious old geezers dressed as Ivory hunters, great atmosphere, cheap drinks, pictures of shane macgowan and Jimmy reid on the wall, a glasgow emblem painted in the bogs, south facing outside seating, a fake stone of destiny, great looking girls, IPA and Guinness on tap, 'bubbely' (sic) Welsh girls get chucked out. Practically perfect in every way.
Yet to have a bad night in here and the atmosphere and staff is always spot on with something on every night of the week.
It's not often you come across a bar featuring a DJ while welcoming dogs, but that's what we happened to encounter one night in Glasgow. This bar was packed with exceptionally friendly people. Maybe it was the particular evening, but I find that hard to believe. Everyone was friendly and chatty and a few had had a few too many. It's a great place to pop in for a pint or a cider for sure. If you're there during the day they have a cute patio for people watching!
Visited Scotland friends, travelled 6 hrs from Wales. Day staff was pleasant. Evening staff was rude, male and female. Told to leave because we were too bubblely being Welsh and loud. Don't like outsiders only regulars! !!
Big improvement since its been refurbished. Was in a couple of years ago.
Working next to it so it's handy for a pint on the way home.
Had a terrible dinner at the old school house on woodlands road before exiting as quick as possible stopped off at the Arlington with 8 mates and had a few beers on route to city centre. The barman on duty was courteous and very efficient and despite being quite busy had time for a wee blether and a smile....combination of beers and a few half's with mixtures ....19 pounds .....excellent value and really good beer. The is obviously a well liked local and other customers very chatty. Some who were leaving retrieved their bicycle from the toilet corridor.....great ambience and very warming....highly recommended for those who like a traditional proper pub.5.minute walk from the centre of Glasgow and 5 minutes from the stand comedy club on Woodlands road.....a must for pre comedy drinks.........it for those looking for a decent local...very refreshing and good feel t
