We had a wonderful pre theatre at The Baby Grand! Food was delicious as always with great wine list fantastic service and a brilliant buzzy atmosphere . We had the pre theatre menu, I had the pate which was light and smooth with plenty of toasted bread and then the steak which came with hand cut chips and salad ! Delicious! My friend had the salmon then fish and chips (hand cut) which was just as delicious as mine. Great portions and so fresh we could see it being cooked ! Never disappointed at The Baby Grand ! Great food, great wine, great service and great vibe . I would definitely recommend it !

Early for the theatre so had a ppo of tea and piece of rocky road. £4.95, not too bad. It was nice, busy with pre theatre customers, but service was quick enough. Staff pleasant, made sure I was served.

A group of us had arranged to meet and have dinner here, it had been many years since most of us had been there and we were looking forward to it, unfortunately it wasn't great and i think it will be many more years before we go back again.

We arrived at 7:15 and had just missed the pre-theatre crowd, so we had the place pretty much to ourselves.

We ordered drinks, but when we asked for a pint of Guinness we were told they had run out of it, which proved to be a bit a theme for the night.

The staff were pleasant enough and attentive and I can't fault them, but when it came to the menu, we were advised that some of the starters were "off" and there wasn't enough portions of some of the other starters to meet what we wanted.

We asked about the specials for the night, but were told that they had all been sold and there were none left.

So we worked our way around the limited starters and also ordered our main courses. A few minutes later the waitress came back to say that they didn't have enough portions of the rib-eye steak to meet our order. Which was a bit strange since they had recommended the rib-eye to us.

What we did have to eat was okay, but it was disappointing that at 7:15 we couldn't get a choice of items that were on the menu. Perhaps one item being off would be understandable, but when so many things on the main menu were unavailable and to have no specials was not a great advertisement.

Visited here last night for dinner with friends. Table booked for 7pm, we were running slightly late and called ahead to advise that we’d be 20 minutes late. On arrival our table was only being cleared but not a problem.

The problem was that when our order was taken at about 7.30pm, the restaurant had run out of specials, there was only 3 portion of scallops left and 2 of smoked salmon. How can you “run out” of items on your A la Carte menu so early?

We decided on steaks and were assured they had 6 ribeyes. Not so, only 5 were available and we were offered a bavette steak for the 6th.

All in all the meal was just about ok, however I have heard from 1 person who had an upset stomach during the night, not good!

The staff were good and the company was excellent however The Baby Grand was overall a disappointment and we won’t be rushing back.

Attentive staff, good food and friendly atmosphere. Favourite for pre post-theatre when seeing a show at the King's.
