Owner description: Recognised the world over as the Home of Golf, St Andrews Links has borne witness to over 600 years of golfing history. That the game evolved and developed into its final form here has never been in question. Golf has been played on the famous Links since as early as the 1400s, and it was here in 1764, when the 22 hole Old Course was reduced, that today's 18-hole round was established, becoming the standard for golf courses the world over. One golf course has now become seven, and many of golf's most dramatic moments have occurred here. The Links has played host to the game's greats as well as those enthusiastic amateurs for whom the chance to play St Andrews' hallowed turf is a dream come true. As well as seven courses, the Links also manages four shops, three clubhouses and a Golf Academy - all open for the public to enjoy.

April 2/3.
Great golfing experience
No tee time. Just flew over in the morning early, drove up to the course and was teeing off at 11.20 on the old course. Always spots for single golfers but after the second week in April it will get a lot busier and you probably won't be as lucky as I was. Weather conditions where very tough. Wind, rain most of the day and very cold. Do get a caddy it's well worth it and adds to the experience. Played the castle course the following morning and it really is a great course. Greens very tough but very enjoyable. Views are amazing.
Even got to play the old course straight after the castle again .
Prices go up after the 16th of April so go before then and it's not as busy.
Will return next year.

Thank Ian R

Still a test of your golfing skills. Links golf at its best. The staff at the various links courses as friendly and helpful as a visitor would want. Castle course staff 5 star.

Played the Castle Golf Course at St Andrew on a windy March day, will definitely go back the course is fantastic, views are breath taking & hospitality and attention to detail by all of he staff is 5star. We had breakfast roll & coffee prior o golfing & dinner when we finished food was excellent. If you are unable to get a booking on the Old Course then go for the Castle you will not be dissapointed.

I'm not a golfer, but I know enough golfers to know this place is the mother land! We did a quick stop on our tour here and looked at the course and visited the shop/cafe. It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed getting to understand the history.

We went to look at the golf course as my partner is into his golf. The shop and bar were nice and there’s a lovely sandy beach over the road.
