Excellent, inventive food (vegetarian) with a stunning panna cotta for dessert. Attentive service in a cozy space.

Service attentive . Ate in bar. Draft ale good quality 3 beers on Red MacGregor, Game Bird, and safe bet TT.Took Game Bird off promptly when I pointed out end of barrel - no lacing and slightly cloudy. Impressed.

Ate Guinea Fowl and was perfect

The bad news price of beer is as much as you can pay in U.K. Oh but it has to come such a long way - yes from Ancrum say 10 miles.

People like the place the staff it's the centre of the Borders you have to go there

We paid a visit to get away from the snow and to warm up. We were greeted with a roaring log fire. The coffee was gorgeous and a complimentary homemade shortbread was very pleasing. The gin and tonic wasn't bad either!! The owner and the waiter we spoke to were very welcoming and if I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely pay another visit.

We called into Burt’s to escape the snow for a drink & what a great decision it was!! There was a roaring log fire burning and we ordered a round of hot drinks. I had the hot chocolate and we were given some homemade shortbread, which absolutely delicious! The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We didn’t eat there on this occasion, but some people had ordered the fish and chips and they looked amazing- so we’ll definitely be back to try them! If you’re ever in Melrose I would definitely recommend popping in!!
