Beauty on our doorstep.. stunning surroundings.. Always kept spotlessly clean.. Lots to see, wonderful lakes and wildlife.. Cage closed atm so take a flask of soup and enjoy our country park for free..

I'm seeing people slagging this place off but it has beautiful grounds around the house (which I didn't / couldn't go inside) and is situated by a beautiful wooded area avec lake.

Well worth a look - lets face it, there isn't that much to do in Newport as it is and it has a cool link to British TV!

Most of it was closed off due to COVID so only spent an hour here. And it was tipping it down so not a lot to see or do.

This is one of the Trust's poorer properties
In present Covid-19 conditions, the charge of £5.00 per person per entry is well over any pleasure derived from the visit. The gardens, where there is any planting, are very poorly maintained, I visited only as a convenient stop off on the way to another venue, but wished that I hadn't. I have been before, once, a couple of years ago to investigate it's worth and wasn't that impressed then. It may just have been acceptable if the entry fee was about £3.00, but there is really very little to see of any value

Lovely site but not suitable if you don’t have a car. Therefore not suitable for dog walking the country park hosts one walk only thexwardens were not up to date with where to go Facilities very clean but I do not understand why only 2 people at a time are allowed in the block I wait 45 mins just to use the toilet as 2 families with multiple kids were ahead of me. Why can’t toilet and shower be separate ? Beautiful grounds but is in the middle of a very busy roadway and you can hear the traffic from the site
