Just had a turkey and a beef carvery roll for lunch. Both were stuffed with meat and served piping hot with roast potatoes and gravy and all the trimmings. They were delicious. Will definitely be back.

Good value and tasty takeout. Excellent Beef brisket chilli, Garth mountain burger and Glamorgan sausage burger. Quantity just right. Washed down with lovely cask Bristol Beer Factory Symphony ipa. Beer choice changes but usually 2 good choice cask and usually Crafty Devil keg.

Everything about this pub is exceptional, the location, the log fire, the decor, the staff, the menus and the food. I recently met a friend here for lunch and the menu was fantastic. I ordered the fried brie with a red currant jelly for starters, beer battered cod, peas and chips for the main and bread and butter pudding for dessert. My friend ordered the spinach and cheese pancake, the Welsh steak and ale pie with chips (I seriously had pie envy) and sherry trifle..

Children's meals start from £6 and there is a great selection including chicken nuggets, fish fingers, sausages and scampi. The evening menu is magnificent and includes Tournedos Rossini (fillet steak, pate and a port sauce) served with roasted vegetables and stuffed chicken with apricots and brie served with bacon and a red pepper sauce. During our visit we felt welcomed by the staff, who did everything they could to make our time at the Gwaelod y Garth Inn memorable. The restaurant was immaculate and there was plenty of space between the tables. I will definitely be returning and I would recommend a visit. This is a great Pub for special occasions.

I had a really lovely roast here- the beef was so tender and all the veg were piping hot- sometimes I find they come a bit cold in some restaurants. Nice atmosphere and staff and the surroundings are lovely as obviously have the hill right by it. Would definitely recommend. Great Sticky Toffee Pudding too!
