£2000 per night for weekend or wedding. Cashing in on greed I will be voting with my feet and never stay here again. I appreciate it’s an event but surely this is a bad reflection of the hotel. I hope people think twice before booking

Thank you for sharing your views on Trip Advisor. I note your comments regarding the Royal Wedding. We have 6 rooms in the hotel that have balconies that overlook the High Street. These would have to be some of the best views in Windsor to witness a historuc moment (see facebook). These suites sold upwards of the price you mentioned for the Friday which gave guests a chance to be in the prime location as the procession went past. Aside from the suites we also have an additional 114 bedrooms that were available at a price to suit most budgets. The wedding has been the biggest event in Windsors modern history and people travelled from all over the globe to be here and soak up the atmosphere. I for one thought the price of the rooms offered exceptional value for money and the guests that stayed in the rooms thought the same. Hope fully you will reconsider and come back and visit soon. Best regards. Phil.

Parking is a major challenge in England’s lodging, as cities date from times of horses and mules. Remember to book parking, if needed, when you book your room. Then, when you find the hotel, which is just opposite Windsor Castle, pull in front for a moment, while you rapidly check in. We were given a map to the Hotel Car Park with inscrutable directions, which we followed with difficulty. It also has a Post Code, SL4 1DL, which you can insert in your GPS, to easily guide you. Just inside on the right is an intercom, which allows you to call the valet who will respond, park the car and deliver your bags to the room. Agree with the other good comments. Major problem was that the room was too warm. The porter told us to “ignore” the air conditioner component on the thermostat, as that “really didn’t work.” Staff was helpful and outstanding. We were allowed to keep our car in the car-park with our bags after check-out, while we toured Windsor Castle. If not for the temperature problem, rating would have been a Five.

Nice hotel right across the street from Windsor Castle. Centrally located near shops and cafes. Friendly and attentive staff. Rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. Shower was very impractical, completely flooded the bathroom.Food was decent, breakfast pastries were delicious. All in all, a great choice if you are looking from something close to the castle.

We stayed here for two nights. The room standard was excellent - clean and with quality decor. Although when I pulled the duvet right back on the second night I realised I had been sleeping on a stained sheet! The housekeeping staff probably thought it wouldn't notice as it was by the foot area - very poor. On the first night the shower did not work as it only delivered hot water - really annoying when your're standing in the shower!. To be fair no sooner had we reported the problem, someone came to the room to address the issue. It appeared the cold water was off or had an air block. Things happen, so we put this down to one of those things - no real complaints with the service here. There was an iron, hair dryer and toiletries (enough for two for one night - shower gel/shampoo/conditioner/lotion and a useless shower cap) - these were not replaced when used. There was a fridge, but his stayed locked unless you left your card details at reception (in case you used the minibar) - a bit of pain as I had bought some fresh milk to use rather than those annoying cartons that hotels give you.

The breakfast service left a little to be desired. The first day service was not the best had to ask for milk and we were told if we wanted something not on the menu we should ask for it. I would have had preferred a menu as a guide on alternatives to the usual English breakfast, cereal, fruit and minimal continental buffet on offer. Still I felt a little picky moaning as the offerings were good and I was happy to choose the full English. Day two breakfast was another matter. Waited about 10 minutes to be seated then sat for about another 10 minutes at the table before being offered a coffee. The staff lacked direction and the atmosphere was spoiled by the chaotic lack of organisation and staff wandering around with wrong drink orders etc, We were eventually directed to the buffet where we joined another guest who told us he'd been waiting for plates and that the food containers were all but empty! A few minutes later the manager arrived with plates followed by food arriving in dribs and drabs. By this time a queue had formed and so you felt guilty taking more than the minimal amount of food as you knew there wasn't going to be enough for others. The orange juuice dispenser remained empty most of the time. All in all a lovely hotel, but the service left a little to be desired ...............oh, and don't pay to park at the hotel - £35 a night is a complete rip off when there are plenty of public car parks in walking distance that charge less than half that.To end on a positive the hotel is almost opposite Windsor Castle and the main tourist area - no buses, trains or taxi's needed.
