We decided to visit on the spur of the moment whilst walking around the Cathedral Close on a visit to Salisbury, and had a wonderful visit. We were so warmly welcomed and firstly enjoyed an exhibition of art work which related to objects in the main house. The guides were friendly and very informative about the house, the exhibits in it and of Edward Heath (previous owner/ex prime minister). It was just so interesting and the guides made it a fantastic experience. We were also encouraged to walk in the garden that leads down to a river. There are also great views of the Cathedral from the garden. Many thanks for a great visit.

The attraction of Arundells is that it remains very largely as it was when Ted Heath lived there for the last 20 years of his life. It is not a particularly grand house, but it is chock full of memorabilia. In the entrance hall there is a very large display of models of all the Morning Cloud yachts which he owned, and replicas of the trophies which he won.
We particularly enjoyed the room in which the Steinway piano was kept and wre delighted to be allowed to play it. The sound is wonderful if muted by Heath's insistence that the lid be kept closed so that his photos of celebrities can be kept on it.
The garden is fantastic and all the stewards both knowledgeable and very friendly

Arundells was the Home of the late Sir Edward Heath and is very much kept as it was when he lived there. There are many interesting and valuable items that he purchased or was given, and the stewards are very helpful. The garden is also lovely to walk in.

The last day before they close for the winter. Really interesting house and inhabitant. Saddest part was the bows of the yacht which sank.
