Booked this hotel for last friday night very good looking hotel staff were great on arrival very prompt in checking us in. She. We got to our room it had a huge leak so we had to go down to reception again and were moved to a different room which seeing as our first room was huge to put in a room no bigger than box was disgraceful went to reception and moved to a more adequate room breakfast was not worth the money at all and felt very let down

Hotel staff great on arrival, no issues there. Room “beefeater” is tried, in need of a deep clean and tidy, floor had bits on it, the stainless steel splash guard on the bath was filthy: over all a very tired room - especially for a four star with a room rate of 120 per night.

Stayed for one night on Saturday 31. I booked last minute and got a great deal but booked only twin room. When we Arrived early they took care of our luggage while we went shopping and when we got back and checked in not only was it in our room but we had been upgraded to a better room with huge double bed. Fabulous. All in all great night, fabulous staff.

Stayed two nights on stay vacation on a Friday and Saturday night.

Hotel is very majestic but is, in parts, dark. Room wasn't much better to be honest. They could do with investing in some more lights. However, contradicting myself here, it's sort of what makes the hotel I guess. It adds an atmosphere of sorts.

Our room, a standard, was VERY spacious.
They could do with a vacuum that gets to the edges mind. Would also benefit from a lick of paint here and there but nothing to put us off. Bathroom was spotless.

Bed was very comfortable and huge!!!!

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

I do fear for it once The Grand opens though. (If it ever does!) It will need to iron out it's small failings or it will lose out.

Would we stay here again? YES

Would I recommend you do? YES

Don't take any of my negatives as a put off, it really is nice overall.

Overnight stay last Saturday at this lovely hotel, a package booked for myself and my daughter. We arrived early and left our bags whilst we went into the city for a couple of hours. Got back at 3pm to check in to find our bags waiting in our room. The staff in reception were very friendly and could not do more for us. Our room, a standard was lovely, warm and spotless. Our package included a half hour massage, it was so relaxing and again the staff fantastic. Dinner again was in with our package, a beautiful restaurant and the food and service we could not fault. At the end of the evening, the beds were so comfortable we slept straight through. Breakfast again, was superb, totally recommend the eggs benedict. So to conclude, our experience at this hotel was very good and we shall recommend and certainly return.
