It was interesting to see this mini version of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Did the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb a while ago, which was an awesome experience. Seeing this bridge brought back some lovely memories.

Last seen by me about 60 years ago, it was an absolute pleasure to see it again. To think it was only a youngster then, at about 30 years old, it looks better than ever, and you don’t have to be from the area to feel the pride in this bridge. And to think that the same architects designed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, what more is there to be said? It’s so functional and iconic, I can’t wait to see it again.

What does anybody need to say about the Tyne Bridge? One of the most iconic sights in the north east. Brings a lump to the throat seeing it after a length of time away...

This is a bridge totally associated with Newcastle. Not to be missed. Walk over it or drive over it both are great

You can’t visit Newcastle without having a walk across the iconic bridge. It’s almost as famous as the Brooklyn Bridge! What we weren’t aware of was that there are many bridges crossing the Tyne and we walked across two or three of them. The myriad of bridges was fascinating – facilities for trucks, buses, cars, trains, and of course pedestrians. There is massive history attached to this bridge, and if you are planning a trip to Newcastle, do a bit of research before you come – it will make it all the more interesting.
