This was another pleasant surprise on my trip. The hotel is a little outside of the city center, but easily accessible from the train station by taxi (if you have a bag you don't want to carry), Metro or bus.
My room was a single, but very comfortable. The staff was terrific, providing information on Newcastle, maps and suggestions, and just good conversation. The hotel is on a street full of guest houses, hotels, B&Bs, and there are restaurants, shops and cafes within walking distance of the hotel.
I added the breakfast option and a full cooked breakfast was available at the time I stayed (this could change based on COVID status), and they offered to prepare something for me to take away on my last day because I had to leave early in the morning.
Just a note for people who haven't stayed in this type of guesthouse/B&B - many places like this are converted homes and are not designed for elevators and have a lot of stairs. A single room is really for solo travelers, not like a commercial hotel. It did include a hair dryer, which is not common at all B&B (or hotel) locations.
I hope to get back to Newcastle one day, more to explore, and I would love to stay at the Osborne Hotel.More
