It is a privilege to stay in a perfect Tudor manor house that feels really old, but updated somewhat with many of the luxuries we expect today. It is a magical experience, a bit like ‘Through the Looking Glass’, certainly a wonderful choice for a wedding or a weekend break. The food is exceptionally good, beautifully presented and with flavours to die for especially at dinner.
Although we much enjoyed our stay, there are 3 ways in which Seckford Hall disappointed us.
(1) Anyone choosing red meat should be advised that it is normally served rare to medium rare. A warning to customers would save embarrassment.
(2) The food is exceptionally rich and unhealthy, and would be greatly enhanced by a side order of fresh seasonal vegetables.
(3) Service is good but it feels impersonal when compared to that in similar hotels and spas.

Really disappointed. I wanted to love it as it is a beautiful old building, but it is very tarred and unloved. Premier is all a bit musty breakfast average, truly a premier inn experience

The setting is great and the ground should be lovely but again these are also very unloved almost no plants, a couple of parched conifers in some of the flower beds weeds I’m not the lovely English country Garden that should be there.

So sad to give a bad review but it really isn’t up to it needs a bit of love and attention especially if it’s to justify its prices

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay. I can assure you the hotel and gardens are not unloved and a lot of painting and maintenance was completed during both lockdown.

Our friends booked this as a treat for us and our daughters birthday treat, well what a disappointment the room was below par, my daughters bed was broken. The room wasn’t exactly a 5* but OK. Most staff were nice but a couple were a bit moody. The food was nice but we had a problem with the evening meal. The Spa pool was broken so we couldn’t use it and that was a big part of the Spa/Relaxing we were looking forward too.... The Spa treatment was excellent and Kim was so kid to my daughter as it was her first massage, the massage was wonderful and so relaxing (thanks Kim).
On the whole we were totally underwhelmed by the whole experience and our friends who had been before said they were very disappointed and that the place has gone down hill since there last visit. What a shame....

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you were disappointed with your stay. With regards the sofa bed that your daughter slept on this has been repaired by maintenance and the charge for this and your daughter's breakfast was removed as a gesture of goodwill which your friends were happy with as a resolution to the issue. We also gave your daughter a bottle of prosecco to celebrate her 18th with her friends on her return home.
Thank you for your review.

We stayed 4 nights at a cost of £800 plus food, 1st room 2 nights fine, 2nd room dairy cottage away from main house damp smell by the downstairs bathroom, broken light switch & broken tiles on bathroom floor. Bar food very slow, staff very friendly but I felt there hands are tied by the lack of investment by B.W. The building is stunning. Had a 2am alarm from the golf club next door Best Western should insist they install a silent alarm. If you stay in the main house I’m sure it’ll be 5 STARS

Room tip: Stay in the main house

Thank you for your review. I am sorry you were disappointed with your second room and there were maintenance issues. These have been addressed with the housekeeping and maintenance team as this is not our usual standard. I am afraid we have no say over what sort of alarm the Golf Club install and to be honest we would rather it made a noise and scared off intruders so they were not encouraged to carry on with their break in attempt or to venture over to our property.
Thank you again for your review.
