I asked for a gin and was presented with a long list of options and a choice of slightly different tonics. Beers are almost as wide ranging. the atmosphere in here is great and there is always a mix of people in here. It has an unusual setting next to the canal and even has a barge inside, on the water. The food menu is good and they have a good choice - something for everyone. It is also convenient for the railway station!

Have only been here before for an event in the function room upstairs so very surprised when we went into the main bar and saw a bridge to the bar which was over 2 barges. I am not a beer drinker but my friend is and was very impressed with the selection. Also they offer 33% off for beers taken away. Nice outside space to watch things go by on the canal but we didn't fancy sitting outside. Not many places left to sit so had to sit next to the open space where the barges are plus both entrance doors, however, was still warm enough. Did not eat but the food looked nice. Close to the train station.

This is my second review for this venue the last being in 2015. Its still a must visit venue for real ale lovers and its choice of cask, craft and bottled/canned beers (including Belgium beers) is extensive. Its a 5 minute walk from the railway station and a 5 mininute walk from the town centre. Its very large inside with lots of tables to eat at as well as having some coomfy sofas. There are a couple of canal boats inside the venue as the canal also comes into the pub. Food is very good and reasonably priced. We visited on both of the days we were in Nottingham once on the way to the hotel and the second night to have something to eat. It has a large outside seating area and as its situated right next to the canal its a great place to visit on a sunny day to chill out and watch the world go buy. Staff are really helpful and friendly and its also dog friendly.

Went to celebrate a couple of colleagues leaving. The food was excellent. Hot fresh and generous in size. Plus very reaonabley priced. Some intersting choces. I have to say the salad accompanyment was really fresh and super tasty dressing I was impressed. All the food came quickly. Lovely building and vast choice of drinks!

We visited The Canalhouse for drinks in March 2018. It is an immediately likeable venue, and has two canal barges in an inside dock to look at. There is a great choice of real ales (look at the chalk boards and a TV screen near the bar).

This is a large bar with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. We liked it a lot, and I plan to return soon.
