A fantastic Museum with so much to see. It was worth every penny of the £10 it cost to enter and took us around 2 1/2 - 3 hours to go round.

Not to expensive for a 2 hour visit, kids go free. The York history part, toy area and street are really good for the kids, they didn't enjoy the 1914 and Prison parts as they were a bit scared so we had to skim over it.

We stopped at the York Castle Museum to dry off and warm up on a very wet walk around the York City Walls. The museum was well laid out, the kids particularly enjoyed the Victorian Street, having been learning about the Victorians at school. We were a bit pushed for time and didn't have time to spend in the second part of the museum, since it was getting late and we still had to walk back to our accommodation at the other side of the city, but I would have liked to have spent longer and will revisit next time we come to York.
