Three of us went for a late(ish) breakfast / brunch to discover that most of Norwich had arrived just before us! Our fault. Having found a table (just) one of us queued for some time to order but once at the counter the process was very efficient.
However, we then had a long wait in a small room which was dominated by one group of 10 to 12 young adults who were so incredibly noisy we literally could not hear ourselves speaking (except for when their food arrived and the only sound was cutlery on plates).
When our food arrived (one King's breakfast, one Queen's breakfast and one veggie breakfast) it was substantial and very good. The King's breakfast comprised two sausages, four bacon rashers, two tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, baked beans, hash browns, scrambled egg and toast wedges. The Queen's was slightly smaller. The veggie was all of the above with veggie alternatives for the sausages. The wait was well worth it and we had killed some of the time drinking an Americano and Chai Latte, both good. There was plentiful cold water, highly necessary to wash down the huge quantities of food.
At such reasonable prices, easy parking and friendly service it is easy to see why the Britannia is so popular.
Memo to self; go earlier for breakfast!
