I stayed at this hotel for a night whilst in Norwich for business. I certainly know my way around a few 5* hotels around the globe, and I have to say that I had a really nice stay.
Check in was friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and well-appointed, comfy bed, well-stocked bar and friendly bar-staff. The breakfast included in my room price) was particularly high quality and the lady managing the breakfast service was brilliant. It's such a pleasure to see someone take a real pride in delivering great customer service.
Only slight downside was that there wasn't a full-size, large desk in my room, more of a low table thing. Didn't bother me though.
If you want a desk, a standard layout and a total lack of personally, there is a Premier Inn down the road.
If you want character, some charm and a lovely classical hotel in the centre of Norwich, go here. I'll certainly go back next time I'm in town
PS - yes some of the reviews mentioning liquidation concerned me as well, but there is absolutely no sign of any trouble at the hotel, it's just....a really nice stay.More
