I stayed at this hotel a few nights ago. Checkin was great, and was quick and friendly. I’ve never stayed at this hotel before but was informed I was in the annex part of the hotel. This is several doors down and separate from the hotel. The annex appeared clear on arrival. I went upstairs looking for my room and it become clear the stairs were the creakiest alive. It soon become clear I was on the ground floor near the stairs. The room was small with basic coffee making materials. Furniture didn’t match and the wardrobe was very damaged and was sloped. The room was clean and so was the bathroom. I paid an extra £5 to have my own bathroom. The bed was single and was also creaky. Through the entire night I could hear ever coming and going and even other guests going to the toilet. I managed to secure around3 hours sleep. This hotel is ideal if your going to get battered in Norwich riverside or prince of Wales and pass out when your back at the hotel. Don’t book this if your planning a peaceful night. The hotel is good, however this modified house need much better sound instillation. Better beds and furniture that’s not broken.
Very friendly small hotel, very nicely located facing the river alongside, and a short walk from the centre.
Comfortable, and pleasant, but not de-luxe. No matter, a pleasant stay. Breakfast good. Will go again.
Good value for visitors because other hotels can be expensive further in. Just over the riverbank apparently makes all the difference pricewise. Enjoy your walk along the riverside, and to the Cathedral over the Bishop's Bridge. So don't miss the Cathedral, or the Catholic Cathedral and especially don't miss the exquisite little church of St. Julian, where Mother Julian as an anchorite, in the 1380's wrote her now world-famous wise words of 'loving God' and all his creatures - rather than the then-prevalent ' Fear God'. Very wonderful kind woman. Wonderful place for any thinking modern day woman to visit.
Nothing not liked. Good value for money and well placed to walk to cultural attractions.
This is a very basic B&B so don't go if you expect the Ritz but it is clean and the people are very kind and friendly. It could do with a leak of paint and some freshening up but the rates are really very reasonable. Breakfast can be included at a small supplement. My friend's room did not have any curtains, which is not pleasant, that's something they should address. The location is near the river and very close to the train station, and only a short walk to the main attractions. I would definitely use it again
The Hotel is literally a two minutes walk from the train station, the lad that checked me in was pleasant and showed me up to my room, no 10, the room overlooked the river which was nice, however there were no net curtains which wasn’t very conducive to privacy, the room was spacious, clean and tidy, there was plenty of room to hang clothes, there was two chairs a large tv and tea & coffee making facilities, the kettle was spotless inside, the mattress was very firm but did not disturb my sleep, however the pillows weren’t very thick so I had to use three, the bathroom was also quite large but showing signs of needing a lick of paint around the base of the shower, the shower itself was hot and powerful, there is free Wifi at the property, breakfast comes at an extra charge, £5 for cooked £3 for continental, there were cereals, juice and yogurts, the woman serving breakfast was pleasant and chatty, although it is just over a mile from the city centre there are plenty of places close by where you can eat, it’s ideal if you’re there for football as I was because it’s only about a 15 minutes walk to the ground, a very enjoyable nights stay.
Stayed for one night after watching West Brom play at Norwich City. Plus points: friendly staff, great location, lovely beakfast, clan bathroom.
Minus points: Very small 'attic' bedroom, shared bathroom, paint peeling, ridiculously hot in Room 12
The hotel is very dated and really needs a refurb, parking is with a permit obtained from reception. Great location by railway station and overlooking the river.
