Looks traditional but food is poor and over priced for what it is. Shame as it looks lovely and quaint but to be honest there are far better ... it's not overly expensive per se just not good value. There are better near by.

When I asked for a vegetarian risotto the waitress ( who was actually about the only friendly person of the staff) said that that was not a problem.
The risotto was the most boring, tasteless, unappetizing risotto I have ever eaten.
Soggy rice with a few slivers of mushroom and some frozen peas. Oh yes, some tomato sauce mixed in as well.
I will never go there again !

Its restaurants like this that restore my faith in food. Caprini has the air of a small family run business ( which I presume it is), from the homely decor, to the slightly chaotic service and hand written bills. The food was excellent, no frills, just well cooked Italian dishes that made you feel as if you were in a provincial village in Italy! Veal Milanese was delightful, nice coating of breadcrumbs, and served with lemon (as it should be!) and garlicky saute potatoes. Not a restaurant for you if you like foams and micro herbs all over your your plate, and all the better for it. Will definitely return.

This is one of my favourite restaurants . The service and atmosphere are vibrant and friendly and the food continues to be well cooked . I highly recommend the veal for the main course . The Owner is friendly and warm and has an excellent sense of humour . If you are near Waterloo train station this is an excellent option.

On Tuesday 13th March were in London and happened to pass this lovely restaurant. We noticed good deal for two courses and in we went. Service was good and the food was excellent and far better than the price would suggest
