The entrance is fairly modern but also retaining features of times gone by. The auditorium is stunning, lots of décor firm by gone era's you could imagine old time music halls and vaudeville type shows being put on here in the past. Lots of stunning features that you don't take it all in at once. Downstairs is the bar and toilet area. Modern clean toilets with hand dryers at both ends. The first time I have visited this theatre but one I fell in love with.

Good view of the stage. You are not under the overhang from the circle so sound is good and it doesn't get too hot. Lots of legroom. I didn't like the fact that the seat back (non adjustable) slopes backwards and I had to put my coat behind my back for comfort. Rows start to raise well from around row J, the front rows are on the flat. Toilets are downstairs where the bar is or on 1st floor, there is a disabled loo on the ground floor. Helpful staff. Lovely ice cream selection! Try the orange and marscapone - delicious. If you found this review helpful please tick the box.

We have been to many productions au The Old Vic over the last ten years. Not a single one of them has been a dud although some have required some concentration and stickability. The theatre is easy to find a pleasant walk from either Waterloo or Southwark stations. All seats are excellent.

I try to come to every show here and always enjoy them. However, having been recently to 2 very long shows with short intervals I have to say they really should do something about the ladies toilets. If you are lucky enough to have seats in the stalls you have to go downstairs to the bar area and often the queue starts on the stairs. When I mentioned this on my last visit during the recent cold snap I was seriously told by a member of staff to "go down the road to the Young Vic, they don't seem to have an issue with toilets and you should be able to make it in 15 minutes," Come on maybe its time to put customer comfort before profit and sacrifice some bar space for decent toilets. Also more staff in the auditorium keeping an eye on patrons maybe a good idea. During Fanny and Alexander I was sat next to a couple noisily eating chips out of a bag. I know it is impossible to get a seat at Pennys bar for food but really!

Didnt know much about the story and was a bit worried About the length of the play but really enjoyed it. Second part was better than first. Penelope Wilton is brilliant and funny...in fact remind me of her character in Downtown!
