I was visiting London to catch up with friends and to see a sports event. The visit entailed two nights. The first thing to comment about my stay was that the staff seemed to be going the extra yard to provide excellent customer service. This was evident from check in, to the cleaners, to room service, the night porter, was present at breakfast and followed right through to check out. This is not overly common in London I would say and it would indicate that the chain are trying to push customer service as something central to them.
The room, as is most in central London, was not huge, but the sound proofing was excellent, the curtains blocked out the light, and the air conditioning was to a very good standard. The rain shower was good too. Overall everything was at an excellent level.I noticed the room lacked a bottle opener, but room service happily obliged. I didn't try to use the TV really, but it was suggesting an additional charge. I may have picked that up wrong.
The bar area is a nice space and has quite an extensive gin menu at reasonable prices for London I felt.
Overall, I found Kings Cross to be an area on the up and an excellent location to base yourself from, near Paddington and Kings Cross station. There is a good bar O Neill's across the road which was a decent recommendation...I was visiting London to catch up with friends and to see a sports event. The visit entailed two nights. There is a good bar O Neill's across the road which was a decent recommendation from the hotel. The hotel is to a very good standard and, all be it from my one experience, I found the staff very obliging and welcoming. At the rate I received for my stay, I would definitely recommend it as it seemed a step above others in London within that price bracket.More
