For the London tourist, looking for affordable accommodation on a budget, Vauxhall Square is the perfect stay for your short trip if you want to be in the HEART of London.

There is a Travelodge right next to the bus lines and the underground to all major areas. Buy an Oyster Travel Card ( weekly, monthly) and use all bus / train lines at leisure on Lines 1 and 2 which is Central London area

And to serve your gastronomical needs; there is a Nando’s close by (menu uploaded). I had the 1/4 lemon and herb flavored chicken. It was nicely done.

There is also a Starbucks close by. If you fancy Supermarket foods, a Sainsbury store, is close between the Nando’s and Starbucks; and a little Waitrose is on the ground floor of the Travelodge Building.

The Heathrow Express will get you between Vauxhall and Heathrow within 15 minutes- for around £5.50. (Book in advance)

From Vauxhall Station, one can walk to the London Eye; Big Ben, Buckingham Palace in relative quick time.
And if you fancy some High Street Fashion, busses to Trafalgar and Piccadilly Circus will get you there with 10 minutes or you could do a leisurely walk there in 20 minutes.

If you choose to walk, you will past the majestic Palace of Westminster, (the 2 houses of UK Government); Westminster Abbey; Tate Museum; and many more wondrous attractions of London.

I’ve written this review for the ‘backpack’ tourist, who has London and its famous attractions on their bucket list. No doubt one will be able to tick off 10-20 bucket list items, if one stayed 8-10 days in London ... do enjoy

When driving over Vauxhall Bridge towards the MI6 building, it's easy to think you're Dame Judi Dench and waiting for the building to explode! The bridge is a smooth journey and you can also spot other landmarks like the London Eye in the distance. If you've a choice of Bridges to go south, well worth a slight detour to get the whole Bond thing!

Lots of different buildings to see this interesting historic area on one of the most historically important waterways in the world.

On a recent visit to London we decided to walk from Waterloo to our Hotel in Victoria. This involved crossing Vauxhall Bridge.
We visit London a fair amount, but had never really walked this way. Usually, if walking we walk towards Southbank & beyond.
I must say though that the walk to & across Vauxhall were very pleasant & much quieter
Views not as impressive, but most definitely worth a stroll this way & will do so again.

This is a special place to go walkies: taking a walk across the bridge to meander in front of the MI6 building where a few Bond films have been shot is a really cool experience. Vauxhall is vastly redeveloped now. being a stones throw away from Victoria, and still the poor London of 'South of the River' means that it remains both affordable and mixed in experience: part official and modern, part ethnic truth.
And then there's always The Vauxhall Tavern, the ever present and singularly defiant gay haunt..
