While in London again, one day we had been travelling to various locations via the tube. Late in the afternoon we got off the tube train at the Vauxhall tube station with the intention of crossing the river to Pimlico.
It was necessary to use the Vauxhall Bridge to cross the river. The architecture of this bridge is nothing out of the ordinary. Probably the most notable features are the sculptured figures which are attached to the bridge supports.
The bridge itself carries a massive volume of road traffic. While crossing the bridge, we only paused briefly at the centre-point to enjoy the river views. Before long, the exhaust fumes became a bit over-powering and so we pushed on to the other side as quickly as we could.
No need to go out of your way to see this bridge!
