While in London again, one day we had been travelling to various locations via the tube. Late in the afternoon we got off the tube train at the Vauxhall tube station with the intention of crossing the river to Pimlico.
It was necessary to use the Vauxhall Bridge to cross the river. The architecture of this bridge is nothing out of the ordinary. Probably the most notable features are the sculptured figures which are attached to the bridge supports.
The bridge itself carries a massive volume of road traffic. While crossing the bridge, we only paused briefly at the centre-point to enjoy the river views. Before long, the exhaust fumes became a bit over-powering and so we pushed on to the other side as quickly as we could.
No need to go out of your way to see this bridge!

This bridge was on my 10-year olds "hit list" in London so he could get a pic of himself with MI6 headquarters in the background. Pretty view over the Thames as well, but this is a functional bridge not meant for a postcard photograph. A quick stop for the James Bond fan in your life is always a good move.

This arched bridge links the southwest of the capital with Victoria. On the south side is the stylish MI6 building, a bus station and a manic gyratory system and on the north side some of the capital's plushest residences. There is not much to see apart from building sites, cranes and apartments and this construction lunacy is set to continue as more tower blocks are being built. You can play dodge the bicycle whilst trying to get into the bridge as there are plenty of bicycle lanes in this vicinity. Keep your wits about you!!
