We celebrated my wife's birthday at Sabor and had an amazing experience, the food was outstanding - all cooked in front of you at the Counter, its almost like being at the chefs table and just wonderful to see how the kitchen works. Staff were amazing and Jose treated us like old friends as well as offering great advise on what to drink and eat.
Its popular and they dont accept reservations at the Counter so get there early or book a table at the upstairs restaurant.

Fantastic restaurant / tapas bar in Hendon St.

We had several delicious tapas and a good clean bottle of Crianza red wine.

Tamas and the team are knowledgable, and very attentive.

We arrived late for lunch at 14:15 but we were still served some of the best tapas outside Spain

Thank Thomas H

We got there at 5.30 and it felt like the first day of the sales with a queue of punters all guaranteed to get in ! The atmosphere and style are similar to Barrafina and the food also. Our prawn croquettas were simply delicious and so were all the things we tried. After a couple hours we were encouraged to have a drink at the bar so more punters could have our “holy grail” of a seat. Loved the staff and the food my only regret is that it feels like another big money machine and it’s a numbers game but with a lot of staff ,london rents and outgoings so high volume it has to be.

We ate downstairs at Sabor last night. As they don't take bookings we arrived as it opened at 5.30pm. Really stylish inside... A long bar with stools around an open kitchen. It actually wasn't too cramped or noisy even when it filled up.

The menu is small plates - all authentic but contemporary. There was a nice selection of fresh fish 'specials' of the day. We ordered 6 dishes between us - probably a bit much to have dessert afterwards as well, but the menu was so tempting it seemed a shame not to try as much as we could! All was great, but for me the salt cod fritters in a squid ink tempura batter was outstanding. Loved the white fish against the black batter. Not too salty with a wonderful sweet aioli. For dessert I'd say the turron creme was a 'must try'. A silky smooth dessert, almost like a creme caramel with an amazing sharp caramel sauce.

Wine list was extensive - interesting to see txakoli wines on the list. Good service - seemed to be mainly Spanish/Latin American staff who knew their food/wine.

Great to also see Nieves Barragán cooking in her kitchen.

One of the best meals of this type that we have eaten recently (and er...we eat out a lot!)
