We had a wonderful evening here last night for my husband’s birthday. We sat at the bar and watched the chef’s make our dinner. We were recommended to order two dishes each and share. The food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the harissa lamb and the charred cabbage. The rhubarb desert was also divine. We can’t wait to come back to Plot for dinner.

Plot is a smart new restaurant in Tooting Market with a well above average food menu (we tried 4 dishes that were all exceptional ) and a well below average wine menu (even the most expensive wine was barely drinkable, and I’m being generous - we couldn’t finish 2 glasses between us). There seemed a significant gap between the ambition of the food and the wine list. One is trying to impress; the other hugely overpriced compared to the quality (take a look at what Unwined will sell for the same price). It is a shame, because if I compare it to somewhere like Brinkley’s Kitchen on Bellevue Road, where the food is very middle of the road but the wine list is superb, I would want to eat in Plot every time, but would probably return to Brinkley’s for the wine. With some more more ambition (and a decent wine buyer) this could be a top place - the cooking is top class, but it is hard to enjoy when the wine so badly fails to compliment the food. 5 star food - but order your booze off the beer menu (which is pretty good).

Great atmosphere in the buzzy Broadway market. There's a couple of long sharing tables and stools at the bar/kitchen counter. Don't be afraid to be sitting really close to the people next to you (didn't bother us)! Not sure why some reviews have mentioned disinterested service as the 2 guys that served us throughout the night were nothing but friendly, polite and attentive!

Really great food, especially the charred cabbage and the cod was cooked perfectly! Each dish was interesting on its own and served with enough time to enjoy one before moving on to the next, which we loved! Didn't think much of the bread. For dessert we had ginger pudding, which was nice but a bit too cold, and chocolate tart with salted caramel ice cream, which was really good but a bit too salty. Wine was great and good value for London restaurants.

Coat hooks somewhere would be handy for those sat on the shared table benches.

Really yummy food and super friendly service! The markets in Tooting are a hidden gem, I highly recommend a visit. Four of us shared the whole menu - each dish was delicious along with some amazing pinot noir and incredible chocolate pudd!

3rd visit to Plot and did not disappoint, we ordered 5 delicious plates to share the Ragu was particularly good along with the ginger pudding, tasty Austrian wine too. My friend was surprise with how great the vibe was down in the market, we will definitely be heading back down soon! Thanks team plot:)
