Our 40th wedding anniversary looming and we had intended to visit the USA, of course Covid put a stop to that so decided to come back to a much loved by us hotel in the Lakes.
If you like modern and spotless then you won't like the Glen Rothay.......it's not your sort of place. If you like comfy and lived in and traditional decor then you will fit right in.
Been here many times and love it. Informed on check in that rooms were not being cleaned each day unless specifically asked to......not a problem....fill in the sheet if you require a top up of anything and leave towels outside the door, never had a problem with any of this.
Cannot fault breakfast ask for what you want and you will usually get it.
Eating in the hotel at night was a bit different this time. We would normally eat in the traditional oak panelled dining room but because of Covid diners were spread between that room and the breakfast room. Very different but nice atmosphere eating in there. Food seemed much better than normal.....a change of chef......or more thought put into the menu I don't know but husband is still talking about the steak he had....unfortunately it was on the specials board and not available the following night....lol.
Would we be back....of course....had a look last night in fact to see what was available when we can travel again.More
