Loved this place! Jane was very welcoming. Rooms were immaculate, with everything you need for a short break! Breakfast was fantastic! Couldn’t eat for the rest of the day. Will definitely be returning for another visit soon!

Had a great break over two days. The parking was a little tight but not an issue.
Our room was very good with everything we required in tea & coffee. The bed was very comfortable and everywhere was clean.
The ensuite was a little tight but ok for the average build person. It could be an issue to the larger person?
Breakfast was very nice and lots of choice.
A very good stay and would return here again.

Very comfortable night spent at High dale. The rooms are very well specced, the breakfast options were 1st class and the owner and others who worked there very pleasant.
Situated as central in Ambleside as you could want. Perfect pad for a couple of nights break.

This was in a beautiful old Victorian house right in the centre of Ambleside run by the lovely Jane. Our room was on the third floor, roomy with a lovely chair to side and read. The bathroom was small but ample with a lovely hot shower.
Our room was at the back of the house. We were still able to hear the road noise, but once the double glazed window was closed the noise was completely shut out.
There is some parking available at the property but beware it is a steep drive and due to the fact it is on a one way street the only way up is via reverse which can be tricky but achievable.
Jane was a lovely host, advising of things to do and places to eat etc.
Breakfast was lovely in a beautiful airy room facing the street. Lovey continental fare to start followed by a choice of hot food right through to full English if required. Coffee and tea on tap.
